Target Audience: All

Presentation Abstract: This workshop will examine the critical elements of the reintergrative continuum for youthful offenders. For youth who have been confined in a residential juvenile facility, the process of returning home is oftentimes a difficult transition, involving many service providers and systems. The continuum of intervention for youth corrections can best be configured into three interactive phases: pre-release; transition; and community follow-up. This workshop will discuss the critical elements of the Intensive Aftercare Program Model, which was funded by OJJDP, and implemented in several sites across the nation.

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Discussing the critical elements to be considered in developing a successful aftercare/reentry program.

  2. Understanding the Intensive Aftercare Program Model funded by OJJDP.
