Target Audience: law enforcement, courts, juvenile justice, and social service providers

 

Presentation Abstract: This presentation will detail the nature and extent of the problem of child victimization through use of computers and technology. It will include the efforts underway to impact that issue and the success and failures encountered by those entities involved. Emerging technologies will be discussed as well as those not yet deployed and how they may affect current efforts.

 

Learning Outcomes:

  1. Attendees will learn the scope of the issue and become familiar with the current resources available.
  2. Attendees will be able to recognize factors that increased the risk of child victimization and methods for modifying them.
  3. Attendees will recognize obstacles for impacting the issue and steps being taken to address them.
