Originally from Illinois, David Beasley gained experience at the department of corrections and in community mental health.  Upon moving to Florida, he has worked with both adults and adolescents with disabilities such as substance abuse issues, learning disabilities, and behavioral disorders. 

 

Currently, he works for the Family Action Program at CDS Family and Behavioral Health Services where he enjoys his service to trouble youth and their families.  David is also a promoter of the WhyTry program and is passionate about using creative ways to reach unmotivated youth.  He recently received the Esprit de Corps award at CDS and was described as one who is “always bringing up new ideas that will enhance the program.”

 

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Community Health Education from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and a master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Florida.
