Kathie Southwick has been the Executive Director of PACE Alachua for the past 10 years.  Prior jobs include Teen Court Coordinator of Alachua County, Alternatives Counseling Private Practice, part-time instructor at Santa Fe Community College and Guidance Counselor at North Marion Middle School.  Kathie has an Ed.S. and M.Ed. in Counselor Education from the University of Florida and a B.S. in Public Relations and Journalism.  She is also a Licensed Mental Health Counselor.

 

Kathie is a former recipient of the Melanie Kretzman award for her commitment to Alachua County Youth and her dedication to the Juvenile Justice Council, the Give a Girl a Hand Award from the Girls Club of Alachua County for making a difference in the lives of girls in our community, the Chapter V Distinguished Service Award in the area of Juvenile Justice from the Florida Council on Crime and Delinquency and an award for outstanding service to at-risk youth from the Serving Youth Summit Committee.  Kathie has lived in Gainesville since 1960 and is the proud mother of two daughters, Robyn and Karli.
