It is the policy of the State Attorney and the Law Enforcement agencies within the Eighth Judicial Circuit to treat all victims and witnesses with dignity, respect, and compassion at all times.

As a crime victim you have certain rights guaranteed by Florida Law. The purpose of this brochure is to help you understand your rights as a victim. The legal system can be confusing, particularly if you have never had previous contact with it.

This brochure will help you better understand your rights as a victim or witness, what to expect during the prosecution of the case and the services available to you.
